Watch more than the opening minute
A striking trailer tells you something about a filmmaker’s eye. A complete Short Film tells you more about how they build a story. Watch through to the end. Notice whether the film keeps you interested in people you haven’t met.
Listen as carefully as you look
The vows, speeches and small exchanges can be what brings a wedding film back to life. Listen to how the voices sit with the music, and whether you can hear the important words. Ask how ceremony and speech audio are planned, especially if your venue has unusual restrictions.
Ask how the day will feel
Some couples love a lot of direction. Others want the filming to happen around them. Talk about how much time you want to spend away from your guests, how filming works alongside photography and what the filmmaker needs from you. The right fit should feel comfortable before the wedding.
Understand what you’ll actually receive
A Short Film, a longer Feature Film and separate ceremony and speeches videos are different things. Compare the finished films, coverage and delivery terms rather than the package name alone. With BLOC, every current collection includes a Short Film, Ceremony Film and Speeches Film.
Find the person, not just the portfolio
Your filmmaker is there during nervous, emotional and very funny parts of the day. Have a conversation. Tell them about your people and ask the questions that matter to you. Trust makes it easier to relax, and relaxed people tend to look like themselves.
Choose with your own story in mind
You don’t need a wedding that looks like someone else’s film. Look for a way of storytelling that can make space for your own personality. If you want to see how that feels with BLOC, watch the complete films and get in touch about your plans.
